Hi everyone, I'm going back to motorcycle models after a pause with model cars.

The model I will do is kawasaki KR1000F 1981, the world champion endurance.

Re: Kawasaki KR1000F 1981 1/12 scale Tamiya

I drilled all the nuts to simulate allen nuts

I cleaned the carburetor from tamiya chrome and I added a rivet on the cover as in the real

I drilled all the nuts engine to simulate allen nuts, I did the welding on the cover engine and I modified a cover.

I did the welding on frame.

May I get a closer view at the welds? How did you make it?

Good work so far!

I place two strips of tape and at the center I cover them with putty (Tamiya white) and then I work with a toothpick and take the tapes.

I have not closer view, but you can see in the next pics the same welds on swingarm.

Re: Kawasaki KR1000F 1981 1/12 scale Tamiya

I built the rear brake reservoir, there is not in the kit

I have prepared the exhaust system, I have realized a welding and I have positioned the spring for the silencer

I cloned Campagnolo rims from another model, because in the kit there are three spoke rims

I have realized weldings on swingram and I modified attachments for stand with a small disc and a hole in the center

I filled with putty in the rear of the swingarm

I like what im seeing so far. Looks like a great start. I just picked up this kit myself and its nice to see someone putting some detail into this older kit.

Re: Kawasaki KR1000F 1981 1/12 scale Tamiya

I built a new rear shock with brass and plasticard, because the kit rear shock with spring is not correct for my bike version.

I built the new brackets for the tachometer

Re: Kawasaki KR1000F 1981 1/12 scale Tamiya

The engine block was painted black, all the bolts were painted in Alluminium, I installed fittings top studio and metal braid hoses of Tuner Model Factory.
The carburetors were painted, I put a strip in the manifolds, I have made fuel filters and I installed fuel hoses and vent pipes.

Wonderful pics! You are not a model builder, you are an artist! I always am amazed at your skill! This is going to be fun to follow your progress...
