97 grand caravan SE shuts off ,has 50 psi fuel pressurel pre

Very puzzling situation here. Got a 3.3 engine with 150K , starts fine ,but shuts off when put into drive. This is an intermittent issue that started recently. Thinking it was a fuel pump or fuel filter issue from a bad fill up,I removed the tank,drained it,cleaned it, installed new fuel pump with new primary and new secondary fuel filter, and put in 6 gallons of clean gasoline. Cycled the ignition switch several times, bled air from fuel rail,and started it up while monitoring fuel pressure. It holds @ 50 psi but when I put it into gear just stalls out. Had new engine computer installed by dealer less than a year ago , and car has run great ,with no issues till now.Any ideas what to look for next?

Now the van won't even start/fire.It just turns over.Great fuel pressure tho!
12-5-12 Very happy to report that because of the info given in the response down two,the van is now running again. While locating the crankshaft position sensor we found that the cps wire had come apart at the connector. This happened because of previous transmission rebuild work, and because the 2 holding clips on the connector were broken off. We fixed it by reconnecting and tightly wrapping electrical all around the connector, to keep it from coming apart again. Hope this will help others with same issue.

It's acting like the torque converter is locking up the tranny. Not sure how to prove it.
