Re: BMW Museum in Munich.

BMW AG - same with the GTRs - #18R and #26R. Previously they owned chassis #010, but their CEO killed it.

BMW USA owns #17R. It's kept in Hilliard, OH at Rahal-Letterman Racing.

Re: BMW Museum in Munich.

Did they own 047 from the start when new or was it previously owned by a private collector?

Re: BMW Museum in Munich.

It's my understanding it was built to replace #010 and has been in their collection since new.

I'm presuming it doesn't have many miles on it.

When I sat in that particular F1 three years ago, it had covered less than 1500km !!!

Re: BMW Museum in Munich.

Here you can see a small article from the German car magazine Träume Wagen (12/2012):
http://www.traeume-wagen.de/traume-w...-dreisitzer/3/
They used several of my pictures which I've taken when I was at the BMW museum in 2009 ...

Re: BMW Museum in Munich.

Hello Gentleman,

I have a question regarding the F1`s that BMW may have owned. I am a BMW employee and from time to time I work at the HQ in Bracknell, UK. I recall a chat with a guy about the F1`s “we “owned but can any of you clarify what we have had and if any have been sold.

I read with interest about the cars in Munich and understand a car was written off but any info would be great.

This site is great and makes me want to reach for the driving ambition book but it still in its cellophane and I don’t want to open it up.

Thanks!!

'You' have had

#047 [in the foreground], #18R [right rear] and #26R [middle rear]

The one that crashed is believed to have been #010 driven by Bernd Piechstrieder, the former CEO of BMW who reportedly wrote it off in a high speed crash.

Re: BMW Museum in Munich.

Wow that was fast!!

So do you believe that all the F1s BMW had on their books they still have? Other than the one that suffered a mishap?

If so this is great as I was under the impression that the Longtail was sold some time ago. From your images it seems to be safe and sound in MUC.

Thats great news
