Question 96 Monte Carlo Engine Troubles PLEASE HELP

ok so here is what i have. i was in a accident oh say a month ago and parked the car until just recently i got the parts to make it rolling again just have'nt got the body work done yet. the crash took out the left rear strut and hub. after getting all that together i start the car it runs fine for a good 2 min or so until it gets warm. after that the rpms go up and down to 2000 to 1000 and sometimes up to 3000 then down it does this 3-7 times then dies. it also smells as if though the car is running rich? and creates a little white smoke. it will also not go above 4000 rpms even if i have the peddle to the floor. i changed the tps thinking that was the problem because it was reading 0% in the live feed. ( ihave a code scanner that does live feed) oh also its not throwing any codes and i have checked all of my vaccum lines, fuel lines, etc. reset the computer just about everything i could think of. please any suggestions will help

Ok, no obd 11 engine will rev over 4k in neutral, programming prevents that. Make sure all the fuel and vapor lines near the accident area are intact. Check fuel pressure while this is happening also.

That is one source of small vacuum leaks, check along the hose routing to the front also.

i did that i didnt see any cracks aslo is the top of that canister supposed to just pop on and off? and if so is there supposed to be a 1/8 inch gap in between the cap and canister body?

That top is sealed, when looking at the top, there is a small gap where it is bonded to the case ( normal), if it is loose or comes off you need a new one.
