Re: POS Mighty Max

Is this thing going to see the track this coming season? Any ideas on time/hp?

Going through the pics now and this thing is looking very nice.

Re: POS Mighty Max

Thanks guys. It will hit the track in April. I'll run it when I don't feel like dragging the RWD up there, and when I'm running the RWD the GF will drive the Max in the street classes. Hard to say what it will run, but it's light, so if it hooks up it'll go. I'll swap to slicks or drag radials at the track. I'm expecting 11.5s on pump one way or another.

I drop in every few weeks and cruise through the sections, but I don't post as much as I used to in the good old days. So many forums, so little time.

Re: POS Mighty Max

I am. I'm feeding a T3 50 trim with a Borg Warner 75mm S400 t6 turbo. The big turbo runs at ~15 psi and the 50 trim doubles it to 45 psi. Neither turbo is working very hard at all, both at 2:1 pressure ratios. It seems to work very well, so I'll be developing it further this season.

Re: POS Mighty Max

Well, the truck is getting there. It's been to the track twice and the dyno once, gradually turning up the boost but I still haven't messed with the tune much.

First night out it went over 100 mph on the first pass. Still in second gear. Only 17 psi too. The rear brakes won't hold the power back though so I can't leave under boost. The lag puts the ET in the 14s. I did get one decent burnout at least. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UIev3-5m3U

Second night out I shifted at 7500 rpm, same 17 psi went 106 mph. Second pass at 21 psi went 112 mph. It loves the boost. Nice smooth run, I love automatics. I still can't launch under boost, so ET was 13.6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6XmXkvKRrE

After that it went out for some dyno day action. At the same boost it ran the 112 mpg at it made ~280 whp. At 24 psi it made 305 whp/270 tq, so it should go a bit faster. This is still "untuned." The numbers may seem low, since they power is being put through a pretty loose torque converter and a three speed auto, and this is on a Mustang dyno. Not much to see, but here's a video of the last run. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSaZ9wdjYXo

Getting there. Now, I just need to get more power to the rear brakes so I can launch it...

Re: POS Mighty Max

After the race car blowed up, I put this thing back together to run in the mean time. Here's the latest runs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx0L0...ure=plpp_video

Going to try a 2 stage boost setup this week. WG pressure when the brake pedal is pressed so the brakes can hold the car back, then to the set MBC pressure when the brake is released to get it up to full boost. That should clear up that bad stumble off the line that the 2 step caused and get me a few tenths.

BTW this is the quickest and fastest Mitsu Mightymax as far as I know, previous fastest was 11.8 at 121.

Re: POS Mighty Max

Seriously. It's an old single stage paint and it comes off when I wash the damn thing. I've been thinking about getting it clear coated to lock in the awesomeness...
