2000 ram 1500 abs light and brake light on

hi
i have a 2000 ram 1500 mode truck i had a guy do the brakes i trusted but messed it up he did single flare instead of double flare on the rear lines and was causing the driver back to heat up and lock on while driving and what not found it later this issue but in the mean time i got the ABS light on and the Brake warning system light on, where do i look?
i just fixed the brake lines now and bled them figured get rid of the brake warning light one

so where do i look first on this and i guessing there is no abs for the back? as i dont see a wire for it

and before i fixed it i havent tested it yet braking would shake the whole truck also while driving the whole truck would shake apart i guessing cuz of the single flare lines so thats been re replaced not impressed but the light on its my first truck so not sure where to look for the abs stuff

Re: 2000 ram 1500 abs light and brake light on

alright so the lights finnally went out i guessing it detected right amount of pressure?

i notice they go out when u turn key on but when you start truck they come on then go out so i guess self test?

but i do find brakes still stuck on so i currently taking tire and drum off and going to back off the adjust to beginging again

but for a truck when you put in gear and let off the gas is it supposed to move forward like a car? or is supposed to sit there? as its sitting there currently

Re: 2000 ram 1500 abs light and brake light on

so i just pulled both wheels off
noticed that driver back it had adjusted itself but the passanger side adjuster never adjusted

also noticed but didnt notice on driver back

is the pass back the adjust cable seems a bit loose like u can move it up and down with ur finger but u cant get it to adjust the wheel to keep it turning it actually makes the wheel turn back so it doesnt adjust

how tight does it have to be? or is it the spring as u can move that metal bracket with ur finger easily tht clicks into the adjuster

Sorry, I'm not familiar with your issue but here's a downloadable 2001 service manual.
The download is kinda slow but worth the wait.

my monte carlo had both lights on to and in my book for it says that if both lights stay on that means that the abs system is nit working but you still have normal breaking

Re: 2000 ram 1500 abs light and brake light on

i havent fixed mine yet but i was told it is most likely your abs sensors. they maybe getting stuck causing the vehicle to think that the wheels are locked up, i have yet to run into a problem with these lights on, but if you cant stand them being on then thats where you want to start
