Quick question on changing tensioner pulley
Planning on changing a tensioner pulley for a friend soon. Just the pulley not the whole thing.
Vehicle is a 1997 Grand Prix 3800 non-supercharged Im curious as to whether or not the bolt that holds the pulley on is reverse thread or not. Im pretty mechanically inclined, but at the same time I dont want to break anything by being misinformed. Im finding a lot of conflicting info on the interweb. Just would like to hear it from those who know best. Preferably someone with hands on experience.

Re: Quick question on changing tensioner pulley
Yes, it is left-threaded. You'll hace to loosen it by turning clockwise; it takes a 15mm socket if I remember correctly.
The part number for Gates replacement (the one I have in mine) is 38015. Oscar.

Re: Quick question on changing tensioner pulley
Thank you very much for confirming that for me.
Look like I ordered the right part, although I purchased the Dorman unit myself, cheaper, and made of metal instead of plastic. Hopefully all goes well! Havent wrenched on a 3.8 since my old Bonneville 6-7 years ago!
