Evap purge

The story so far:
2008 Impala, 3.5, 75,000 miles. I replaced the intake gaskets 3 weeks ago due to an oil leak. Went fine, ran like a top for a week then developed a miss (cylynder 3), didn't fully seat the plug wire. All's fine now except the evap canister hasn't purged (according to my code reader, the icon is flashing). How often is the canister purged?

the evap system goes thru a check at every start. what is the code. the evap system does go to the intake. you may have left wires or a hose disconnected.

Re: Evap purge

There is no code set or pending, just the "EV" icon flashing on the reader meaning that the monitor has not run the test.

I would get a reader that has the ability to read those codes. go to a auto store like autozone.
