Exclamation HD Nissan GT-R GT1

this car is a abeauty. The r35 is already one of the nicest and most aggressive cars on the road (shall we talk of her sound?) and finally HD has produced this gt1 competition version.

the model come in a little cool box, where all the parts are well packaged and also the body is separated from the rest of the parts

a little resin part in the rear extractor was slightly damaged. Nothing impossible cause is just a square corner very easy to replace

very clear vacuformed trasparent parts

the really nice parts comes. PE parts and a lot of small metal casted details, all boxed into separate bags

here come the biggest problem I found in my box. probably for too quick extraction from the nice moulding the front pillars are deformed and also the roof become too low..

here u see clearly the problem:

the problem can be scary. thanks god I know ho to fix the issue, but I really cannot understand how this happen.
The comapy packaged the car very well and very carefully. It can also be due to hight temperatures we had last months here (around 45 degrees), and I will not be surprised if the model become deformed during the travel.

very very strange, really.
nothing impossible to fix anyway. with an hairdrier I let resin return soft and replaced all the 2 pillars in the correct position. so the car retook immediately its correct shape

now perfect:

body is really well casted and detailed

decals look very nice too. I love the union jack on the roof. livery is stunning

and they also provide a very useful dime for windows paintings

eheh, yes. still really wondering how that happened. the box is tall enough, perfect and also very well packaged (body and all the other biggest parts inside wrapped plastics).

Re: HD Nissan GT-R GT1

ciao Brian,
this is a complete kit. no plastic models required (correctly cause there is nothing in common with street version cars).
The definition of "super detail set" is indeed mistaken. also I didnt know it was coorectly complete model.

What I meant was I'm sure they started with an existing plastic kit body and modified it. It's the most practical way to do it even if you only use the roof shape.

Love the car.

Re: HD Nissan GT-R GT1

I think, Brian wants to know, which kit HD used as base for the kit. They for sure took a streetcar model and transfered it to the racing version.

How much did you pay?

Re: HD Nissan GT-R GT1

Hi Micha!
The Basic is from Tamiya!
The Headligth are from Tamiya, too...
I have pay 210 Euro for the Kit in a Austrian Modelshop.
The greatest Problem are the louvers in the Engine Hood. I used the Parts from the Tamiya Super GT Plastic-Kit.

Re: HD Nissan GT-R GT1

I just stil dont understand the finishing of the real car.
The black part seems satin black but the roof with british flag seems glossy (cause big decal maybe?). Also still not clear to me if the white (pure white or a pearl white?) is satin or glossy.
..will be a cool challenge to paint her..
