Chrysler Keyless Entry System Problem

I'm having an intermittant problem with the keyless entry system on my 2005 Chrylser Town & Country Minivan. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I've replaced the battery in my key fob, but the problem persisits. If it works, all the functions work fine. If it doesn't work, none of the functions works. We have power side doors and a power trailgate, as well as power door locks.

Both key fobs? You can try pulling the IOD fuse for 2-3 minutes to reset the BCM.

What and where is the IOD fuse? I'm not a mechanic, but I'm sure I can find it with a clue to it's location.

Re: Chrysler Keyless Entry System Problem

IOD stands for Ignition Off Draw and is the main power source for the body control module better known as the BCM. The BCM controls the data bus which the RKE system uses. You'll find the IOD fuse in the Integrated Power Module (IPM). That's Chrysler's fancy term for the fuse box under the hood. Disconnecting the negative battery cable serves the same purpose.

This is a diagram of your fuses with the IPM cover removed. The IOD fuse is highlighted. You should see a similar diagram on the flip side of the IPM cover. Disregard the narrative: http://www.justanswer.com/dodge/10yd...aravan-se.html
