Re: Hatsune Miku BMW Z4 - Super GT 300 Fujimi

It's a nice kit, but the rims are inaccurate - rims are too large and so do the tires (as they copy Fujimi GT3R wheels)
and you need to open front/rear mesh vents in the bumper if you want to take it closer to the reality.

+ Tires markings are missing.

BUT - Tuner Model Factory makes nice PE parts and I expect anybody to produce nicer rims!

Madish - that front air intake you've built looks wickedly masculine - Madish - I bought an extra set of Scale Productions GT3RSR Porsche wheels from Mike - I will use them on my build as they look very close to the wheels in the pictures at the beginning of the thread. If you're unfamiliar with them I can send you a picture - not sure if Mike still has them in stock? Lots of people bought several sets when he produced them a few months ago. They have an aluminum rim with a plastic insert and the are made to fit both Fujimi and Tamiya - John

Yes, that's a good idea!

Can you measure the diameter of the rims with the tyre? I am afraid that they will be too large as the fujimi ones.

As for the tyre marking, you can buy new PE sets for BMW.

However, I will use "Yokohama" from Hobby Design set for Porsche 962

GT3R wheels with Fujimi tires, the chrome wheels have the same diameter

Madish - as Mike said above the Scale Production wheels fit the Fujimi tires perfectly - They also fit Tamiya 1/24 racing sports car tires - and some 1/24 Revell like my 06' GT2 corvette. Mike's wheels really look so much better than the Fujimi stuff - you can also get a chrome center instead of black - send mike and email and get some - you will not be sorry. Mike's service is also excellent - John

Re: Hatsune Miku BMW Z4 - Super GT 300 Fujimi

Sure, I will take a photo in August, when I get home
The decals are OK, but some places are horrible - carbon, gray/silver stripes - you can see little dots of RGB collors instead of a nice image (like a old TV screen, when you zoomed and you saw little colored spots).

That's the shame, but I will be following the japanese builder and paint the silver stripes on the car + headlights + using different carbon for covers in the front bumper.

Re: Hatsune Miku BMW Z4 - Super GT 300 Fujimi

Hi Fellow forum members - just a quick note -For anyone doing a GT3 BMW Z4 - I think the Fujimi kit tires are wrong - oversized" in outside diameter because they are just copies of the Porsche GT3R tires - I recently received an order from Mike at Scale Productions and bought a set of his black 18" BBS GT3R/RSR wheels with tires - his tires are just a little smaller in outside diameter and look much better with a trial fit. For anyone considering a BMW GT3 Z4 they are well worth the price and will make the build look much better than what the box Fujimi wheels and tires do. Thanks again to Mike - he really makes some nice quality parts at a reasonable price - John
