2006 Sebring leaking water/antifreeze

I have to keep putting water in the tank. The leak is coming from area just right of the tank. Dealer has quoted me $400 plus dollars. I'm an old lady and need a confirmation on it. I don't know what he said he needed to replace but said he had to lift the air handling system?

Re: 2006 Sebring leaking water/antifreeze

Since I am about a month behind, you may have already had this repair done. But just incase:

The waterpump on your car, which circulates the antifreeze/water through the engine to cool it down, is going bad. I just had mine replaced 2 or 3 months ago. Before I had it done, it was leaking antifreeze onto the ground just to the right of the bottle, like you said, because that's where the waterpump is. There are two air conditioning lines that go directly over where the waterpump is, so those most likely need to be removed to get to the waterpump.

If he is charging you $400 to fix it, that is a very good price. I paid in the neighborhood of $1000 for that.

Good luck!
