Cool Monterey 2012 thread - at least two, maybe more? A boy can dream anyway...

I'm off to car mecca tomorrow - expecting to have the most amazing time.

Of course we've known for a while that #28R is going to be auctioned by Bonhams.

I also posted about chassis #014 headed in that direction a couple of days ago in the North American Fleet thread. Excited for that as I haven't seen it since the transformation.

There aren't any other F1s I expect to be there at this point but I remain hopeful and have a ton of spotters primed to contact me if they see one. I have my own busy schedule but I'll do my best to find whatever happens to be there.

Today I discovered that #014 and the pair of Ferraris it was with in Santa Barbara weren't transported up to Monterey, but rather as I assumed from the start, they drove them!!

Here's some photos from Instagram - some from random people who spotted the car in SB yesterday and a few others taken by the driver's/passengers.

At the SB storage location:

Let's go for a drive:

And not McLaren related, but Dad in his California Spider for a road trip up the California coast is just AWESOME!!

Good luck! She looks amazing in person. Something about white on black just always seems right.

So is the "kid" driving the owner? or son/relative/friend, etc, of the owner?

As much as I don't want to say it (especially on this forum), the 250 SWB is the sexiest car in terms of looks of those three by far. McLaren being the best to drive probably.

Thanks for the pics!

And this is part of how I got to spend my evening - so incredible!

If you haven't seen the 12C Can-Am Edition yet, there's a full gallery here on McLaren's FB wall:

So this happened:

And then the F1 was left parked at a transporter, so I have a feeling it's not going to be running around the rest of the weekend.

Bummer - I feel very bad for them.

Re: Monterey 2012 thread - at least two, maybe more? A boy can dream anyway...

Clutch issue apparently. Perhaps they got it sorted but I am not too sure it's ever a roadside repair on an F1.

I'm sure if it is out of commission that their weekend plans just went downhill - this is not the place to have a broken car.
