Wink Twin Turbo V-10 Audi A4 DTM

Hey guys!

This will be my first build that I am posting to the forum! I have been following this forum for YEARS, and building model cars since I was real young, so I think its time I let you guys follow along with one of MY builds and get some input and tips!

What am I building?

This project is my interpretation of how I think the Audi A4 should have been built I am using the Revell Audi A4 DTM kit as a base for the project, but will be using VERY few parts from the kit. I will be getting a majority of the parts from a Revell Audi R8 Syder kit. I work on this project in my spare time, and really want to make THIS one SPECIAL. I will be installing twin turbo's on the Audi R8 V-10 engine. The interior, suspension, and a number of other parts will be sourced from the R8 kit.

Here are some starting pictures. I dont often take progress pictures of my builds, but I am just not starting to take pictures so I can keep you guys updated with my progress.

Starting Point:

Some ideas begin to flow:

Got my turbo's in the mail finally (sorry for the glare). You can see the R8 Interior tub that I will be using for this project. You can also see the V10 engine sitting where it will be in the end. :

Wanted to make the kit a "wide body" and was originally going to scratch build the side pieces...ended up carefully chopping up the R8 body. Doing this gives it a sick wide body with natural stock lines. Got alot more working of the body to get these pieces to work EXACTLY how I am envisioning them.

I am working on modifying the front hood now.

I like to build model cars and modify them to do what I wish I could do in real life...but with ALOT LESS MONEY.

Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks! I usually never really FINISH these projects because I just come up with more and more ideas of what I want to do. So maybe with your guys support pushing me I will get this one done, the way I want it, and it look professional.

Re: Twin Turbo V-10 Audi A4 DTM

I am going to be using the chassis off of the R8...the front will need to be extended a little to fix the wheel base issue. Hoping to have the chassis done mid next week at the latest. I am determined to complete this build
