Tamiya 1/12 Tyrrell P34

Dear reader, these will my very first project on this forum and in English, which will be a challenge for since I’m from the Netherlands.

My name is Ronald and 45 years of age. I’m a late beginner although not new to the hobby. Many years ago I’ve had my share of models, sadly their all gone whit the wind.

This will be my second model the first (Gemballa Mirage GT) can be viewed in the complete project page.

The car in questions is the Illusive Tyrrell P34, six wheeler and it will be car 3 from Jody Scheckter.

My grand dad told me ages ago about a race car with six wheels of which 4 of them are steering wheels! I couldn’t get enough of his stories about the car. I can’t remember ever seeing the car on the TV, however I did see the real car in a museum.

I acquired the kit via Ebay, the decals where missing but that only dropped the price even more. I’ll build the model strait out of the factory.

Anny way this car means something to me, so I’m looking forward this this project.

The parts:

I’ll use Indy decals that are really beautiful.

Next to the kit parts I’ve acquired some extras to lighten up the model.

Tamiya PE set

Brian. L. Fawcett, Hewland gearbox cast in resin with amazing detail.

E. Jan. Intake Funnel and Distributor

E. Jan. Cam Cover and Plug Caps

E. Jan. Air Intake Funnel Mesh

Tundervalley PE set

Joe Honda Picture book

Yes I know, I do have a lot of extra’s to fit on the car. The Tundervalley kit is a bit to much, but after this one I found the E.Jan kit who will ad more detail to the engine. I’ll see what to use. For my previous kit I’ve used quite a lot Pet that was later not visible anymore, that will not be the case with this car.
See you soon, Ronald
