Bill Mitchell Stingray Spyder
One of my all-time favorite Corvettes. Amazing design from 1959 that holds its own even today.
Not the best kit, nor the most accurate by a long shot, but still a fun build and it looks good on the shelf. Old resin kit by Starter in 1/43rd scale. Straight out of the box except for the rear view mirror faces I made from Mylar and a gear shifter made from a straight pin. I made a jig to bend the wings of the knock-offs out equally. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Bill Mitchell Stingray Spyder
For such a small kit it looks great. Haven't seen that car before. Exhausts look evil

Re: Bill Mitchell Stingray Spyder
Martini,
!That car could come straight out of the old Flash Gordon Movies! Great finish though! |

Re: Bill Mitchell Stingray Spyder
Looks really good! What did you use to attach the side-view mirrors to the windshield? That looks problematic...

Re: Bill Mitchell Stingray Spyder
Good old CA glue. That was easier than attaching the windscreens to the body...

Re: Bill Mitchell Stingray Spyder
No trouble with fogging? I've typically used white glue or trim adhesive to attach these vacuum-formed pieces rather than CA for fear of fogging, but have not really experimented with it. Does it not bother them like it does clear plastic parts?

Re: Bill Mitchell Stingray Spyder
Fresh glue helps a lot. I waxed and polished the clear before installing the two clear parts to the body. I think the wax helps ward off some of the fogging too.
