Corvair with a Corvette V8 ?
The other day a friend of mine was telling me that in 1966 or '67 there was a Corvair model offered that came with a small block Corvette V8, he seemed to think it was a 350. I've certainly never heard of such a model but I thought I'd ask here. Anyone ever heard of this ?

The Corvair was only offered from the factory with the flat 6 engine offering various levels of horsepower . There was a aftermarket conversion kit available which allowed the use of a SBC in place of the stock 6 ! Go to http://www.corvaircorsa.com/crown1.html for the info on that ! There's also a website devoted to Corvairs which have had the V8 SBC installed and not just in the usual rear engine configuration ! Some are rear mounted , some mid engine , and some in the front engine configuration - http://v8vairs.com/ ! Check them out !

yes iv seen the V8 conversion too. to me it takes the originality out of the corvair but im sure it gives it tons more power.
