1996 Chevy Truck missing vacuum.

Hey All,

I have a 1996 Chevy full size with the 350 engine in it that I just bought. I was doing a tune up on it last night and noticed something odd. The purge solenoid has three lines coming off of it and only two are connected: the front of the solenoid and the back. But there is a third line that comes off of the side and I cannot find where the third line goes too. The emissions diagram under the hood shows on two lines, the front and back, and not three. Does anyone know where I need to hook the third one up too? I have attached two pics with the mysterious third boot with missing line.

that 90deg hose is a vent. when you purchase the new solenoid this comes with the part. is it mounted next to the connector.

this is just a 2 port valve which vents excess gas tank vapor to the engine from the cannister port. too much gas tank pressure could mean this is not working correctly or gas odors.

you would most likely get a vapor DTC if this was messed up anyway.

So this is just a vent and nothing connects to it?

go to the parts store and you will see this bent hose. if you remove this part and look closely it should have marked ports as to in/out cann/ engine.
