1991 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, worth it?
I have the oppurtunity to buy a '91 cherokee laredo, 4 dr, in line 6 cyl., 4x4 for only 450$ with around 300,000 km on it. Its got a couple problems though, some rust near the back tire(not of big concern), one rear brake is grabby sometimes, front tie rods on both sides need replacing, driver door only opens from inside(not of big concern either) and windshield is cracked but from being hit with something supposedly. Is it worth it to buy? And fix up? Its a first car and would be great for the winter too.

Hey $450 I would jump on it. It would bring more than that for junk here, and it is 4x4. That is just my opinion. Poor boy got poor ways.

Re: 1991 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, worth it?
Sounds pretty good. On a 21+ year old vehicle you can expect some minor things like what you listed.
The 4.0 is a very durable engine and can go 400k miles, that's more than 600,000 km. Just change the oil and you will be good. I use 5w30 summer in mine, and 0w30 winter. Automatic or manual transmission? If it's the auto, it will benefit from a fluid change every 60,000 km. If the manual, unless it has gotten into some deep water, it should be fine with the factory fill. I would go for it.
