Group Car Buying

Hello,

I hear a lot of talk about group buying in general, but not much of it is about cars. I did a google search on this topic and there are pretty much no sites dedicated to this (except for a few Australian ones). I find it surprising because in my view you should be able to save much more when group buying expensive stuff as compared to, say, burgers on Groupon.

autovertex.com is the only site I know for this purpose. It seems to be very new, but it looks like a decent idea. It just needs more people and dealers at this point.

What's your opinion about group car buying? Does it have potential? Have you tried it? How did it work out for you? Any other sites like this? I'm looking for a new Accord right now, so I'm interested in everything.

Re: Group Car Buying

Do you mean by group buying, that multiple people purchase a single vehicle, or that multiple vehicles are bought by the same person?

Re: Group Car Buying

There is one here called Carcartel.com
I have a friend who used their service and she was very pleased with them. They have a unique system where everything is 100% free.
Check it out. I have no affiliation with them. I thought it was impressive how they do it. Great new concept.

Re: Group Car Buying

I have also heard of the car cartel group.
I think their website is Carcartel.com
A friend of mine used them and was very happy. She said she saved a little over $2000.00. That is a lot of money in my book.

Re: Group Car Buying

i don't think it's a good idea to purchase cars as a group... you can't buy cars directly from the makers, can you? then you have to get them from your local dealers. then the problems come:
1. how can you find many persons who want the same car within your community?
2. most dealers don't have that many cars for a group buying...

Re: Group Car Buying

According to the name it seems that a group of people comes to buy the cars together so that they can get a large amount of discount. It is beneficial for both the customers as well as the dealer because dealer can sell large number of car at the same time and the customers are getting the discount at the same time….
