I just bought a 1990 civic wagon (2WD) I want to switch it to 4WD I think I have a donor 4WD car. Has anyone done this? It looks like you could swap trannys, the drive shaft and rear end. thanks for any info

Sounds like it would just be cheaper to sell your 2wd one and get the 4wd one. I dunno though.

We dont have a lot of wagon guys on here, welcome aboard!

if you are talking about taking all that stuff off of a civic wagovan:
and throwing them on to a hatchback:

than i have heard it is not possable, it would be kinda cool to have a 6 speed awd hatch, i heard about a guy a while back that had a zc powered wagovan and he said the rearends where only good for about 120 hp. keep in mind that the 88-91 wagovans did come with the d16a6 engine, same as the si hatch and si crx

haha, when i was up in kansas city visiting one of my good friends a while back i saw a 3rd gen wagovan slammed with wheels, exhaust, like 10% tints and a blitz front bumper it was some funny shit, but i have to give some props when props are due, he did have alot of time and money into that poor, poor wagovan expecially getting that bumper to fit as well as it did

Im looking at a wagon to wagon swap,I know a sane person would sell it and buy a 4WD,but Im an Acura mechanic,so I have no money and less sense. But I can fix or build anything,my last project was a 1953 Buick super,I put a trans am subframe on it(ps,disc brakes),9 in ford rear a 455 buick bigblock and 400 trans and replaced the entire floor and rockers, it should have been junked but what the hell it was free, its a blast to drive. Any way I got the 2WD drive wagon cheap and I think I can get the 4WD one for free (its so bad even I wouldnt fix it) and I know they are dorkmobiles but I need a winter beater that can get through the snow and still get good mpg( i drive 40 miles to work one way) and I dont want to drive my 88 legend coupe(5sp)in the winter.(that was a free car too) I just wondered if anyone has already done it before I start .....Thanks for any info

Other than the wagon, I recollect that there was a JDM 4G Sedan with AWD/4WD on it - now that could be cooler than an AWD Shuttle.

But... having seen how fragile the transfer case on the shuttle is, I wouldn't bother with it at all
