Installing a New "Boss BV9155B in-dash double din" stereo

Well I'll start from the top, I bought a Boss model BV9155BV in-dash double din Audio system for my '04 Chevy Impala(Base not SS,LS) but my sound does not work for the speakers in my car. I bought a wiring harness for about 120$ for it because I was told I needed it and I did. I set it up with 2 other people one that has put a new stereo in his truck. We set it up the way that the manual said to do but it has no sound for speakers. The Stereo has power to it but there is no sound to the speakers. The chime is very low and cuts off after lie 3-4 "dings" when the door is open and it is supposed to keep "dinging" when the door is open with the key in the ignition. I spent about 300$ total on the entire thing but the only thing that I could get working is the power to the radio and the car to start but the chimes don't work. I need real experienced people that have been acquainted with a 2004 Impala and swapping the stock stereo out of it and putting a new one in it. Please help thanks.
