hey fellas

Have you ever thought to yourself, isn't it interesting how so often we seem to be replacing sensors that are bad as apposed to the components that they're supposed to be "sensing"?

I see so many posts for "there's a problem with this sensor or that sensor"... once replaced, very often the problems go away. Ever make you scratch your head and say hmmm?

That a very good point. On the Villlger/Quests a Knock Sensor code normally means that something else is setting the code, like a misfire, etc., 99% of the time the sensor is doing what it suppose to do and is not faulty, showing that something else is not right. Costing about $600 to replace and normally does not fix the problem.

What's even more puzzling is that certain sensors depend on other sensors for proper operation. I have had a VSS code forever that cleared when I replaced two faulty ABS sensors. Turns out that the VSS is not really a VSS in the sense that it cannot detect vehicle speed on its own. The VSS obtains this value from the ABS sensors...
