Question 61 thunderbird ac diagnosis

Replaced ac compressor on my 61 bird,evacuated system and tried to charg but it will not.any ideas please

Welcome to the forum jr9. Sounds like you may have a leak in the system. Did it hold a vacuum? Did you use the correct refrigerant for your system? Did you use refrigerant with a dye in it so you can see where the leak is?

Like 97Bird says It'll help tremendously to have all the facts. Was there an original diagnosis? Are you going with R12 or has it been converted to R-134 refrigerant? What compressor oil did you use and how much? What other components have you changed...drier,expansion valve,condenser,evaporator,service ports,any hoses? Was system leak checked, was it flushed? Did it pull a vacuum of 30 in/hg and how long did it hold the vacuum? No crystal balls here... need facts and we'll be more than happy to help ya.
