Hatsune Miku BMW Z4 - Super GT 300 Fujimi

Hello lads!

So I am huge fan of Super GT and my BMW Z4 kit has finally arrived!
So I start the build of the Championship winning machine with drivers Nob Taniguchi (former D1 GP drift champion - you may know his famous Red-yellow HKS Genki Hiper Silvia) and his teammate Taku Bamba!

The model represents the car that run towards its first victory in round 3 - Sepang, Malayisa.
Taniguchi secured pole position in the qualification run (one hot lap each) and led the race. The complications came with the end when Jim Gainer Ferrari 458 closed the gap and got close to BMW Z4 in the last 2 laps. They put nice pressure but in the end Taku arrived to the finish just ahead of the Jim Gainer's 458 and secured their first victory! - They later won the championship in Super GT 300 class!

And the fast 458 that came second by margins of one second!

The kit is very beautifuly done. Fujimi has done excelent job in producing all little details and the molding lines are minimal. The bodywork is amazing. The alignment of the lights and parts on the body is perfect! The rims are OK (better than in Fujimi Porsche GT3R).
The negative bits are that this kit is missing the TIRE DECALS - Advan logos and Yokohama logos on the side of the tirewalls are completely missing.
The front and rear mesh in the bumpers is molded in. That might seem ok but not for those who aim for the details. The bad news is that if you cut the molded in mesh grills > you lose the points which hold the chassis + You need to recreate the front cooler + structure around it + rear exhaust + structure around it.
Also the rear difusers are pretty thick - they need to be thicken by x-acto knife.
The interior is simple but offers good chance for the detailing.
Also the Original ride height seems too high for me. In the reality the wheels are aligned and positoned neatly in the mudguards - need to lower it a bit
Here are some pictures

Mock Up

Perfect fit!

The largest problem - molded in mesh!

Stay tuned!

Awesome, subscribed! Looks like a fantastic kit, just a shame about the grills but I'm sure it won't be too hard to work around.

Nice one, love the kit, looks really well done! You can see why Fujimi did the rear mesh in plastic, its pretty complex, but the fronts could have been molded open! The wheel spokes look a tad thick on it too! But cant wait to see more of this!

Re: Hatsune Miku BMW Z4 - Super GT 300 Fujimi

I just received this kit myself and a t first was a bit disapointed with the molded screen but then realised that it is a curbside and there is nothing to view behind the screens anyway.
A very good P E overlay would work great and look good.
I mat really need some help translating decal instruction though. Am still guessing as to why there are 2 different decals for the hood(bonnet).

Would the wheels from this kit fit the GT3R? Are the tires the same size?

Thanks, John

I am going to use the screen material often found in Tamiya kits and attach it over the molded screen on the body. It should give a better effect than a painted molded area without the pains of cutting all that out just so you can see through it.....also it won't be as one dimensional as PE would be.

That's a good idea!
I am going to cut the mesh. At the front it will be now problem; however, the rear will be complicated

Good point is to search for references on google to "BMW Z4 GT3" - for example BMWs that run with Team Needforspeed or Schubert Motorsports

jlrobe: I will check the tires next week and will post a picture

the tires are the same, as in Porsche GT3 kit. but for the wheels use this one: http://www.scaleproduction.de/produc...--schwarz.html

@Madish
the mock-up looks good. i want to built my one in Schubert-Motorsport livery.

Sweet, this kit will look so sweet when complete. Can't wait for other liveries. Good luck on cutting the back vent as its going to be tricky. Be patiant and go slowly. Good luck.

Hello, so I progressed a bit. Tried that with BBS LM 20" by Aoshima on Friend's request

I started to work on the front. Recreating it from styrene sheets. The thickness will be reworked + I will add the radiator later

Also airbrushing the windows + windows on Police GRS182

Mock Up!

The wheels look awesome. What you've done so far on the front grill seems like a good solution and looks very mean!
