Re: Oil Pan Gasket
You stated you have a 2wd truck, so no front axle. There is a cross/support beam that runs between the frame rails. It just unbolts and drops out, maybe thats what you're after?

Re: Oil Pan Gasket
Rack is pretty easy to remove. Two mount bolts, pinch bolt at steering shaft, ground wire and hose fittings, disconnect tie rod ends. After the shaft is unbolted, turn the rack all the way to the right to shorten the left tie rod, then slide the whole thing to the right, then down and out. MAKE SURE THE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT TURN OR DAMAGE TO THE SIR COIL WILL OCCUR!

After looking at the rack I decided to lifted the engine two inches. The oil pan came right out. I this had not work I would have had to drop the rack. Thanks |

use pins to guide the pan into the proper position use a few of the bolt holes to insert the guide pin.. follow the proper proceedure and torqure spec ... make sure no oil is on the mating surfaces. use mineral spirits/paint thinner to clean.. if the oil pick up screen is dirty clean .. |

tighten the bolts with a hand driver first check rear of engine cover for flush the evenly torque the pan down as below tighten the pans bolts to rear cover to 106 in lbs...about 9 ft lbs.. tighten the oil pans bolts to engine and front cover to 18 ft lbs. sealant is on the front cover / rear cover tabs that protrude into the oil pan surface. |
