Have any of u guyz tried CTX2 Fuel treatment or any other fuel treatments? this CTX2 should be mixed with a ratio of 1 to 4 and claims to add 40hp.

Re: Fuel treatment

That's what I can't figure out. Octane enhancers have a smaller volume but this guy is 1 gal. Here is the website: http://www.problend.co.uk/fuel/ctx.asp

i cannot see any chemical details in that link. Honestly i would not trust it.

Plus anyway the only proper way to take advantage of fuel aditives is if yoy change your timing and A/F ration to take advatage of its properties.

The way i understand fuel treatment is that it cleans out your injectors, i cant see something like that adding horsepower, maybe a small amount depending on your engine. But 40 HP is way to overated.

Unless of course your talking about something like Turbo Blue than yeah, depending on your engine.

well there are two types of aditives that can increase your power

1. The ones that increase your octane and therefore a higher knock threshold will alow you to advance your timing and lean out the mixture therefore gaining power

2. The ones that increase the energy content but those can be potentially dangerous for your engine

Re: Fuel treatment

I don't think this is a cleaner, rather it is a catalyst or some sort of fuel itself.

Smile Re: Fuel treatment

I use Syntek XFT, and I'm biased since I also sell it (full disclosure). However, I have noticed a remarkable increase in fuel economy in my cars (1998 Corolla and a 2008 Accent). And, it feels smoother and more powerful in the gas pedal. Also, my customers report the same. Two of XFT's main functions are to clean your fuel and combustion system, and to modify the rate at which the fuel burns so more of it is used more efficiently.

Anyway, all that is to say that yes, while cleaning your system may increase the power of your engine, it is mostly going to affect the efficiency and longevity of your motor. A catalyst type of additive is going to have more affect on your power. However, that does not necessarily mean an octane/cetane booster. For instance, XFT achieves better fuel efficiency, power and smoothness in part through a burn rate modifier that does not increase the specific gravity of the fuel, or the octane/cetane. This can be useful for some drivers who need to comply with certain regulations or manufacturer guidelines.

I hope this addition to the discussion helps some people.
