'01 Suburban Front Heat is Cold. Back Seems OK
My shackbully called to say there's NO heat in the Suburban. Asked her to please stop breaking things. Wrong response.
She described what happened over past 2 days. Said it was blowing hot. She turned down fan. Still too warm so she turned temp all way to cool but heat still coming out. Today, she says there's no hot air. Checked it just now and there's none in front. Rear heat began to blow lukewarm after a few minutes. I tried every setting in front but never warmed up. Could not hear any sounds as I changed front control temp from hot to cold. Bought it a year ago and there was a temp issue at time which I had dealer fix before I bought. Similar in a way. Switching from hot to cold didn't work after operating a little while. Think the told me there was a "switch" issue... which they fixed and its worked fine till now. THANKS for any help on this. -steve |

Re: '01 Suburban Front Heat is Cold. Back Seems OK
Thanks. Wish I'd been lucky enough to give it a whack and fix. Not this time.
Turned out, mechanic replaced Blend Door Actuator. Works fine now. Old one was duct taped together. While at it, changed cabin filter. It was pretty disgusting I'm not proud to say. 273.55 -- TOTAL COST (not cheapest guy, but trustworthy): 112.68 -- Actuator 38.13 -- Cabin Air Filter 115.20 -- Labor THANKS ! |

common problem after about 7-10yrs. also the ac/heat bower fan resistor. cabin filters should be checked every year. they do remove lots of fine dust. the ac needs them to ensure good cooling or the evap coils will get pluged with debris and you'll get lots of water and a weak ac cool air. thanks for the reply with your results. |
