Re: REVELL 2012 News

I can easily find myself building 3 of the 599 GTO's, and probably an Aperta as well. Good stuff! And a lot of neat models of all kinds; I'd say Revell AG must be doing fairly well.

Our local dealership got in 3 599 GTO's, and I'd like to build all 3. They're all pretty neat color combos. The first one I saw is Silverstone Gray w/red stripes and mirrors (though it now has Silverstone mirrors). A week later I saw the other one delivered at the same time (early October 2010) in Rosso Corsa w/gloss black roof and wheels. Normally I shy away from "resale red", but this looked perfect on the GTO. The newest one was just delivered in the past month or so to the owner of the local dealership, white w/Blue Pozzi stripes and dark blue leather/Daytona's interior w/lighter stitching. Basically an homage to the NART Ferraris.

The Silverstone car is kept at the Ferrari dealership, ownership is in limbo, the owner got it, had a terrible personal tragedy right after he got it, lost interest. It's not for sale, but may be someday. Not sure about the red car, never saw it again, thought the owner had the dealership ship the car to a track event this past year. The white one is staying with the dealership owner, will never be really driven. More of a museum piece. His Enzo only has about 100 miles on it.

I would imagine the next Revell AG announcements we'll see SLS and 458 open top versions. I have plenty to play with before that happens

The red with the black roof/wheels looks the goods!

Re: REVELL 2012 News

I'm glad that I didn't get that expensive resin of the GTO. With all the "grade-up" kits that are sure to pop up after release, I'm sure I could build a model that would be better than that overpriced resin and be much cheaper too.

I've seen the Hobby Design GTO up close.

Looks pretty good.

If you like 1/26th scale models

Considering you use Fujimi 1/24 scale parts with it...I can imagine the frustration factor with parts that won't fit.

It's better than their horrific 599XX "parts pack", but HD needs to quit wasting time with either resin or molds that shrink.

Between the Revell kit and aftermarket photoetch, and perhaps HD wheels and better brakes, you'll most certainly end up with an impressive replica.

Re: REVELL 2012 News

everything is a logical follow to their previous releases, I don't see any special surprise, but I think the 599 GTO was highly expected and uncertain till being anounced ! It's good to see Revell active and productive with their highly improved quality they can only cross success.

Re: REVELL 2012 News

wow, finally some interesting car models from revell, after the narcotic 2011 list.
Good news for the599 GTO, we just have to find nice wheels and revell models drastically change (build a 599 fiorano..decent model, with fugly wheels...).

Also very good news is they started reprint the italeri models of the past.several of theme are still at today very nice moulds (as the california, the 365gt4,the swb, the gto..)Just also here,we have ugly wheels and tires, but today is easy to change theme with nicer ones.

Nope...not yet, anyway. I didn't care for the FF much until I saw a couple of them in the flesh. That said, Revell is better off making GTO (and Aperta...they share a lot) and 458 Spider vs. the FF. Now I kind of want an FF kit...but I lust after the GTO. That's a compromise I can live with

Re: REVELL 2012 News

I want an FF kit. I'll get it built anyway, somehow. I think that FF is absolutely brillian - but I'm strange, I have Z3 M Coupe as my DD.

I totally understand, and I would like to build the FF as well (the interior design is especially nice, and the seats/driving position are divine). I've always loved the M Coupe, neat car and very unique (and rare). I thought I'd enjoy driving it more than I did; what struck me was a great amount of road noise and rear end noise coming from behind the seats, whereas my drive in the M Roadster (top down on a beautiful fall day) was perfection. The roadster all I heard behind me was the great sound of the exhaust; couple that w/the buttery-smooth, almost rheostat-type power delivery, and it was a drive I won't forget.

Re: REVELL 2012 News

On the Ferraris, please give us correct size tires. Not the truck tires that were in the Challenger kits.

Probably Fujimi will take care of the FF kit?
