Aftermarket Fuel Pump Wiring

I bought and installed an aftermarket fuel pump. It has a different wiring harness than stock. I took a chance and wired it up and it works fine, but I got SES CEL almost immediately (P0442) which is EVAP purge valve solenoid. I also noticed that the car stinks now at the purge canister. So, I was wondering if a couple of the wires on the fuel pump power the EVAP and I crossed them up. If anyone has experience with wiring one of these aftermarket pumps up and maybe has a wiring map, that would be great!

Thanks
Todd

I know that they make two fuel pumps one with emissions and one with out. in AZ you will need the emission type.

with buying aftermarket fuel pump and your issues. post what the manufacturer is . where you bought it . perhaps a forum member can help.

I would have used a delphi fuel pump with emissions .

Re: Aftermarket Fuel Pump Wiring

the OEM/proper fuel pump assy has a pressure/vacuum sensor. this is how the pcm determines the condition of the evap fuel vapor system.

Re: Aftermarket Fuel Pump Wiring

I found this post on the Yukon forum

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=138891

Since I have good functionality from the pump, I suspect I have reversed the sender wiring. Since the fuel tank is low, it is s good time to drop it today.

Thanks

check out these pictures of a silverado 1999 vehicle. with this truck style the pump replacement is easier than with your suburban.

good pictures may help you ..2 connectors one for pump/sender the other is the evap system.

Re: Aftermarket Fuel Pump Wiring

Looks like the same pump I got. Unfortunately someone put gas in the Suburban and I will need to wait a bit to drop the tank. Fortunately they only put 1/2 a tank in.
