Question 1999 escort extreme loss of power

I'm going nuts trying to find th problem with my car
1999 escort se 2.0 SOHC 5 sp M/T

It has no power at all and sometimes will barly even run in first

Ive tried the following:
Replaced plugs, wires and coil pack
Replaced fuel filter
Checked air filter
checked EGR
Tried runnung without EGR Tube to checked for plugged cat conv, but still had loss of power
Computer Shows no codes or pending codes
Checked for vacuume leaks, could not find any
Fuel pressure was 35-40 psi
Compression was 150psi

Any thoughts from anyone, I'm stumped on this one

Thanks for any sugestions

Neil

Have you tried a vacuum gage? Low vacuum would indicate a clogged exhaust system.

Are you testing the fuel pressure before or after the pressure regulator? I was thinking that it could be bad.

Timing belt slip.

Properly read vacuum testing will identify this and most other mechanical issues. But as a matter of investigation you should check the timing marks directly.

Are you sure you don't have a blocked exhaust? The catalytic converter could be blocked or the muffler.
