williams fw14 Hasegawa super detail kit 1/24 info

Hi guys,
I have an hasegawa fw14 in 24 scale, the box is the one with full metal details inside. From my first look inside it seems a very nice improved model of their ordinary fw14 kit.
Apart for the unusual scale (usually f1s are in 20th, right?) it is a good kit to build or not?does it have some big mistakes better I know before any start?tried to search also some build thread of such but did not find here.

The idea would be to build (someday as many others in this life ) an one off with f1 subject, and for my purpouse the 24 scale is perfect cause have all in this scale in my showcase.
I noted in the kit are only missing the tobacco decals, but thats not a problem.

Just would like to have your opinion, cause here inside I saw many impressive works over f1 cars.

Hi there mate!

I've not built any of Hasegawas F1 cars myself but according to this thread they seem to be quite good in general

I know that their aircraft stuff is great, Im diving into an Italian F-104G very soon and it looks superb!

Cheers! or maybe Bork Bork!

The old Hasegawa kits are bad compared to Tamiya kits. Much too "LEGO" like parts etc. As far as I remember the "full-detail" is not worth the money.
The Fujimi 1:20 version is by far better.

also I know tamiya and fujimi are way better, but I loke this is in 24 scale.Isnt around any review or wip of the build up model to see how it comes and if there are some major issues to fix?

Re: williams fw14 Hasegawa super detail kit 1/24 info

I had one of the these but traded it off because I already had the regular all plastic version and it didn't seem all that much different. I bought them too because the 1/24 scale fits with the rest of my collection. Personally I think they are probably the best F1 kits available in the smaller scale. The only downfall would be the decals and Shunko has been releasing sets for most of the Hasegawa series.

Re: williams fw14 Hasegawa super detail kit 1/24 info

thnx Mike, thats exactly the same reason cause I saved it (the scale, should be nice to place near other ones). Will keep it as decompression build, when i will found also the missing tobacco decals.

Re: williams fw14 Hasegawa super detail kit 1/24 info

As Mike said the high detail version is not much better than the regular version. The only better 1/24th scale F1 kits are from Rosso. They were better than Tamiya was at the time. I only build 1/43rd, 1/24th and 1/12th so these kits are great for me. More decals for this kit would be nice. I have the aftermarket Camels buts thats it.

This is my ordinary 1/24 Hasegawa fw14, what I assembled oob in the early 90's. I remember, the quality of the kit was excellent!
