I've constantly had problems with the heat but in the past adding coolant seemed to remedy the issue. For the last year I have not had a/c or heat in my car. The coolant level is fine. We have taken the control panel apart and cleaned the connections. I can not go through another winter with no heat PLEASE HELP

Re: 2000 Malibu no heat or a/c
Does the blower blow air through the vents? Also, have you tried removing the easiest ends of each heater hose and flushing the heater core in both directions until a good flow of clean water comes out? Check to see if the thermostat is allowing the engine to reach operating temperature. Unforunately, another common cause of no heat is air in the cooling sytem, which if the sytem was bled and you had heat and after a cool down and restart did not, a head gasket may be letting combustion gasses into the cooling system. Good luck and hope the fix is simple.

Re: 2000 Malibu no heat or a/c
Does this car overheat? When the car is at normal operating temp, feel both heater hoses going to the heater Core....
Are they both hot, or just about the same temp? If yes, and you have no heat, you have a possible temp door problem... If one hose is much hotter than the other, then you either have an air pocket(due to low coolant, a leak, or possible headgasket problem) or a plugged heater core.... |
