1996 Chrysler T & C - Dies in Gear
Help! ! ! My wife's 1996 Town & Country can be started, and runs fine while in Park/ Neutral, but when putting it in gear(Drive or Reverse), it seems as though it goes into gear smoothly, but RPMs drop as car lurches chugging to move(pumping gas would get it to move then OK).
This problem started a couple weeks ago, intermittently but only for a short time; then could not be simulated per incident;sometimes hot & sometimes cold. I replaced the "octopus looking" fuel filter with those weird plastic clips. No change, still occurred intermittently. It progressively is getting worse. Today, my wife is reporting it will stall out immediatly once it goes into any gear. I usually say dead solid is better than intermittenFuel? vacuum? Tranny? WIll go to the shop for diags tomorrow. ANY CLUES???
