Peugeot in US?

ARe there any dealers in US? I like the cars, I think that they are neat, and i can't quite afford a bmw and AUDi/VWs are hideous, I like to the 700 I believe thats the larger sedan.

Re: Peugeot in US?

The largest Peugeot is the 607 with is between the 5 Series and the 7 Series in size. The price is near from the A6, but is better loaded. There is also the 807 which is a mini van like the Chrysler Town & Country.
There are no Peugeot dealers in the US since 1992 and the end of the activity of Peugeot in this country. It is said that Peugeot could return there arround 2010-2015, but, nothing is sure. The investments to do to return in North America would be very important, and some other makers have the same problem to solve as Renault or Alfa Romeo. For PSA and Renault, they do prefer intensify their presence in Australia, South America or Japan, and overall China and Eastern Europe where the car market is developping rapidely.
So let's wait and see. But, if you want a Peugeot before 5 years, either you buy a 405 or a 505 (ultimate Peugeot sold in the US and Canada) or you import one for a price which could become very high (transformations, transport, etc.)... and in this case, you will be able to afford a very nice BMW !!

Re: Peugeot in US?

I m born next to the Peugeot factories in France. I know mechanical things.
I can tell you cars like peugeot or Fiat are not that reilable. Break down far more often as a VW.
Their is so many plastic things bad quality.
This cars are perfect if you live in their country.
Your fiat breaks down in Italy, no problem, you find the spare part for a few bucks within a week, you find easily someone who knows this issue and can fix it in Italy.
But this fiat or this peugeot when it's more than 6 years old, something breaks down every year. An electric window, the exhaust, the door lock and so on.
And you cannot find the spare part for ten dollars. your dealer will have to order it. need one month.
Fiat peugeot renault the quality is not good enough for export far.
They last ten years after must repair quite often. More often as a VW or a ford.
