Does transmission go into park and lock down there good?
If it has an shift cabel try adjusting shift cable.
Shift lever should lock
down in park position to keep it from bumping out of park into reverse.
Most of them have a shift position switch on transmission linkage that is also adjustable and tells dask indicator what position it is in..
