New man

I just shot some TS-47 to try out my new Badger 155 anthem on this. It will be the "Newman" Porsche 956 that won the 1984 24hrs of Lemans. I will be doing the black this weekend. It took over 2.5 hrs to mask and about three minutes to paint.

Re: Newman

This should be a good one to watch. I love these cars and always enjoy seeing one built up. I'm just in the preplanning stages of building the Kenwood version. Any plans for detailing up this one?

Re: Newman

How do you like the airbrush? The 155 is the one with the jar cup?

I really like this airbrush because it has a specially ground needle tip tht lets it spray very fine but it opens up to wide spray for doing bodies. It does use a jar. I have an Iawata Eclipse gravity fed that I will use for small stuf and this for bigger parts. Here is a pic.

Yes I plan on wiring and plumbing the engine bay and I have Tamiya's Etch Set for the details.

Re: Newman

Cool progress.

Will the ragged edge of the oval at the front be covered with a decal?

Yes completely. I have since sanded the edge down. I usually go over separation lines with 3200 grit to knock them down, I just hadn't done it yet when I took that pic.
