Re: 2011 McLaren Speaker Series at Pebble Beach...
Hmm, #012 was not in Italy/Swiss for some years ?
I made a theory for the fun : 75 would be F1 registered ![]() 64+5 roadcars and prototypes less 5 crashed = 64 8 or 9 GTR road registered = 8 + LM3 + 3 Brunei LM It makes 76/77 but I think it's fantasy

Re: 2011 McLaren Speaker Series at Pebble Beach...
I was told it has been owned by the Italian gentleman for some number of years, but it is my understanding it did not leave Japan until very shortly before it appeared at Carugati. I also confirmed that this mystery photo taken at COX Inc in Japan was indeed #012 just as I originally suspected.

Re: 2011 McLaren Speaker Series at Pebble Beach...
I think he's counting the BMW Classics Collection Museum cars - #047, #18R and #26R. Also #03R is still in Germany with Thomas Bscher. With #071, that's 5.

Re: 2011 McLaren Speaker Series at Pebble Beach...
I can hopefully help with the discrepancy a bit later. Don't rack your brains over it.
![]() EDIT: Okay - later is now. ![]() The slide showing the locations of the cars was meant to be a rough snapshot of the locations of F1s at that moment in time. Again, that 'moment' was about two weeks prior to the discussion at Pebble Beach, so roughly the beginning of August. Since that point in time F1s like #006 and #012 and a few others have changed hands or relocated so the data is already out of date. I was also told it only includes F1 road cars and other road going variants, plus road converted GTRs. That explains why Canada is a (1) and not a (2) for instance as #23R is neither of those. Also #21R wouldn't be counted in Germany or the UK and so on. McLaren will not be assisting us with drilling down to the exact chassis numbers referenced in each bubble - didn't expect they would - but with this explanation the data supplied at least starts to make more sense. The UK number might also be lacking some of the cars that are, as I was just told, "kept downstairs". I assume that meant on the boulevard at the MTC given the return address for this helpful individual. Now after saying not to take the data too seriously, I can't help but go back to the Brunei number of (7). If the list is not supposed to include GTRs, then does that mean they still have 8? Hmmm... you'll drive yourself crazy over this stuff, you know. ![]() Now it was also suggested to me in Monterey that there might be a car or two that McLaren have lost track of. That statement is perhaps more interesting that anything on the slides, but no one has shared yet which cars those might be or their last known location. They could have even been pulling my leg - I don't know. ![]() >8^) ER |

So, my theory could be good
![]() Erik, I understand totally McLaren will not help you but if we can help McLaren to find cars ? I am pretty sure at least one lost F1 is in France... Phil |

I didn't say they wouldn't help. I just said they weren't going to give away all the secrets, or as we often say it here "spill the beans".
