Schucks auto parts is crap!

Yesterday morning I came out to a broken water outlet on my pickup, you know the part that attaches to the motor and also to the upper radiator hose. So I call schucks up and ask how soon they can get me one, they said they can have it by tomorrow morning if I get in there before two and pay for it. So I go in and order it... This morning I call them up and see if the parts truck has came in yet and it has. So I get a ride from a friend and go down there, they can't find my part. Apparently it didn't come in yet. The only reason why I got it from them instead of going to a junk yard and getting one is because they said they could have it the next day, in time for me to install it and drive out of town to the parents' house for xmas weekend. So they don't have my part and won't get it until monday. So it looks like I'm stuck at home on this wonderful xmas weekend and won't be able to go see my family. Thanks schucks!

Schucks is Checker Auto in my area. The so called ASE Certified Parts Techs are a joke. The parts there cost more than Autozone and Advanced. A parts guy told me that an automatic transmission doesn't have any hydraulic related valves and couldn't order the parts. I walked out. My question is how do they stay in business with all the competition.

well I finally got it today, I tried to convince them to knock some off the price but they wouldn't. Oh well, my truck is fixed...

I've had a few problems with Napa before, but never schucks. I guess it's time to move onto autozone... Napa used to give me the wrong parts, like one time they gave me the wrong cv shaft, it was so close to the other one that I didn't notice the difference and spent all morning and part of my afternoon trying to get it in, finally I got my micrometer out and measured it, it was a little smaller than my old one. Took that in and showed them, oops, our mistake, here's another one....

Part mix ups happen everywhere including d(st)ealers, hot rod shops, and etc. Just deal with it people make mistakes.

Best one I had was getting someone's old rear brakes instead of new ones, turned out they had hired a new kid who put all the cores back on the shelf.

Worst one was VIP, regional chain in new england. 3 alternators and 2 batteries in 2 days, they said I was hooking thing up wrong. Had them test the 4th alternator, it was bad right out of the box, same with number 5. Got my money back for the bad alternator, went to Autozone and have not had a problem since.

If you're going to do a job, do it to the best of your ability. I know with my job, mistakes can not and do not happen. Do it right the first time or don't do it at all. Yes, people do make mistakes, but 99% of those mistakes could have been prevented.

Thats beat... Tell them to cut the price down for everyday it's late since you will be paying more from them then a junk yard.

Re: Schucks auto parts is crap!

I went into Schucks in Covington Wa to get a set of lifters for a Ford 302.
The guy behind the counter said he'd have to order them, and they'd be there in 2 days. I went back 2 days later, and the same guy brought out a box, set it down, and opened it for me to see. "here's your lifters!" he says. Inside the box
were 2 brackets. 1 for the right side of the engine, 1 for the left side. TO LIFT THE ENGINE OUT! "That will be $86!" "Cash or credit?" Haven't set foot in Schucks since then.
