from 2011 chevy cruze ls to chevy trailblazer ext 9:43:41 AM, crazy?

I was at a dealership today looking at the 4x4 vehicles since with my new job I will be traveling locally everyday. Since here in PA we get nailed in the winters. They had a 06 trailblazer ext fully loaded on sale for $16,995. 40k I am thinking of telling them take 10% off and ill take it. Am I nuts for going from a 2011 cruze to a trailer blazer ext 2006? Opinions needed

I have traded my fair share of vehicles.. 11 to be exact at the rip old age of 29. My wife would tell you that I can no longer go near a car dealership..

My advice on this particular vehicle would be to see if you can find something in the 2008 - 09 range. They are out there for a little more and might have a little less mileage on them. But you are probably going to take a nice hit on the 11 cruze either way so if you can live with it my money would be on staying with the cruze for at least a 3-4 years.

Good luck either way.

Seems WAY high to me...but I haven't researched prices.

Its average for the ext... I found another one that they are offering me $15k for my cruze. The trailblazer is a lt fully loaded 56k year: 2006... Great condition. I just don't know if I should trade in a 2011 for a 2006?

Just to add to my first reply.. An 06 with about 60K will also be coming up on many of the maintenance items. It really is always nice to have a new vehicle because you have the warranty. But I will say they are giving you a decent price on the Cruze.

With that said here are a few things I learned since I bought my 03 as a third vehicle.
1) Open both back doors and look inside for rust along the seams. I know they changed the doors a bit from my year but still take a look.
2) Open the hood and look at the rim of the hood for rust.
3) Test drive it and make sure the tranny shifts right.
4) Finally make sure the fan is operating properly (assuming this has the 4.2L)

I think if you really like it then go for it. I like mine. Just be prepared to have some maintenance items taken care of.
