Re: 1994 Park Avenue Ultra Codes

OK, got the scanner and it is actually a handy little device. This is my first time using a scanner and i was pleasantly surprised how much information it produces.

only code showing was the same code P0640 Quad Drive Module #1.

Purge valve: car off = valve OFF. Car on = valve ON Car on and smashed the peddle down = OFF. Resume normal driving = valve ON

Boost: 100% all the time with exception of reverse 0%

TCC solenoid: interstate cruising speed: solenoid was on, then switch to off when foot pulled off the peddle. back to on when throttle was applied again. stop and go traffic solenoid was off all the time.

TCC applied: was NO for 99.9% of the time. i saw it switch to Yes for a millisecond, but was right back to NO. This seemed abnormal to me.

to me it looks like my TCC solenoid is working correctly but the TCC itself is not engaging properly. I dont like the sound of that!

Have you followed the procedures mentioned in post 8 & 16?

Re: 1994 Park Avenue Ultra Codes

Ok, so with my TCC not engaging that means I need remove connector from solenoid and continue with step 4 on page 3. Where is the solenoid located?

Behind the trans side pan, clipped in the control valve body.

Re: 1994 Park Avenue Ultra Codes

Thanks for the help on this problem so far.... I have run into some other problems (not car related) that has kept me from focusing my attention on this post.

Once I resolve some outlying issues i will resume troubleshooting the posted problems.
