adding keyless entry to 2002 caravan

I just purchased a 2002 caravan which has power door locks, but no keyless entry. A dealer told me I need a KIT# 82207758 which has to be installed at the dealership. does anyone no how much trouble it is to install this kit, or how you go about adding the factory keyless entry

If a module is needed then the computer will need to be flashed to accept it and get it working. Even if there is no module to add then you need a dealer level scan tool to program the remotes. I'd let them do it if you really want it. It only cost me $125 for a new key and remote and to have both programmed.

Re: adding keyless entry to 2002 caravan

Thank you b1lk1 for the info.I no I can have an after market added at Best Buy,ect. I was told by a chrysler dealer that if the van came from the factory with power door locks, you can add the factory keyless entry,by buying the Factory Kit I mentioned in my first post. You purchase the kit from a chrysler dealer parts dept.

I just wanted to no if anyone in this forum had ever done this. I can get the factory kit for $111.00 I was looking for info on how to do the install.

I did a quick google search for KIT# 82207758 and it pulls up a few responses with people stating the kit comes with instructions and preprogrammed remotes and is a cakewalk.

Re: adding keyless entry to 2002 caravan

for my 2001 I got a module and the key fob that was already programmed to it from a junkyard for $40. VERY easy to install. Nothing to flash or program, it's plug & play.

Check you local junkyard, there's a good change someone will have a Caravan or a T&C with a key fob.

Once you have one key fob already preprogrammed you can get any other key fod and program it to keep as a spare.
