ac cuts out @ higher rpm's

hey guys need some help. got a 99 jeep sport straight 6
ac works fine after topping off.pressure 32 l/s 210 h/s could still be a little low but air is very cold. problem is while drive compressure shuts
off. i thought it may have been too low causing it to kick off. while in park
& holding rpm's at 2k everything seem to be ok. it cycled on/off at times
as normal but then compressure stopped & did'nt come on again. shut the engine off checked the fuses restarted & the air is back running
like normal?? so whats going on do i have a bad l/pressure switch or may
be a relay sticking??while at 2k rpm's l/side 25 h/side 250 then at idle
32 & 210. i dont think its low enough to cause the shut off but.....

Thanks

Re: ac cuts out @ higher rpm's

So at anything higher than idle the compressor cuts off and stays off?

I've got an '04 so our vehicles are basically the same. Charged the AC to about 45psi on the low side; It wasn't working and was at around 28psi when I started to refill. I'd try putting more coolant into the system (with some stop leak) to get the pressure up.

hi fred & thanks for the reply,
no the air works fine most of the time especially at idle. the complaint
the customer(sons g/friend)is the air stops blowing cold while driving.
when checking every thing worked ok the pressure looked a little low
so i added 12oz,pressures came up & air was ice cold. i then held the rpm
at 2k & every thing still looked ok.the compressor cycled a few times as
normal, but then the compressor stopped. i shut engine off checked the fuses & reseated relays making sure of a good connection, restarted &
all was back to normal. my question is could it be a faulty pressure switch even tho pressures look ok or a relay going bad. i dont believe
that i did anything when checking fuses/relays to fix this problem. i was
going to jump the p/switch when it acts up & see what happens.
both fans are working fine & the pressure is'nt to high. im just looking
for other possiblities i can check when i get the car back.

thanks again
