Thumbs up Aussies - McLaren F1 scheduled for display at Motorclassica in Melbourne

Just got word that a McLaren F1 is scheduled to be displayed at an upcoming event in Melbourne. Thanks to tdc911 for the tip!

Seems a pretty sure bet that it will be #009 as I don't believe there are currently any other F1s in Australia.

Quote:
Event details:

Motorclassica - the Australian International Concours d"Elegance & Classic Motor Show
Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton Gardens, Melbourne, Australia
16 - 24 October 2010

For more information please visit www.motorclassica.com.au
Buried in one of the teaser captions is this:

"Not to be missed, Supercar central features the newest production Morgan, the Bentley Mulsanne and Supersports, the McLaren F1, the Ferrari 288GTO and California, the Devaux Spyder and the legendary Jaguar XJ220."

I hope several of you locals can make it to the show for your own benefit and for ours with some photos.

If it is #009, I haven't seen a recent pic of her for a while. It'd be good to see her out and about again

Re: Aussies - McLaren F1 scheduled for display at Motorclassica in Melbourne

Now they've changed the dates to 22-24th October, wonder why they've shortened it.

I am seriously considering going, so long as I can manage to afford to budget for hotel accomodation plus round-trip airfare from Adelaide to Melbourne and back to spend about 5 days there, because HOLY HELL this is literally a once-in-a-lifetime chance for me to clap eyes, lens and possibly hands on an actual McLaren F1, and if I do get to go I will BE THERE EVERY DAY OF THE SHOW!!!

Fantastic news!

Thankyou so much for making us aware of this Peleton.

I'm going to be there with bells on. (its only two hours from where I live)

Wow I thought I might have to go to Europe or NZ to see a F1 in the flesh. I very much hope there is an F1 actually there.

#009 is there alright, in all its magnificent splendour!

The information board stated that it is the only McLaren F1 in Australia. It is displayed next to an SLR McLaren Stirling Moss (I also spotted Sir Stirlinf Moss there tonight). I look forward to seeing tdc911's fantastic pics.

It appears to be the Dark Silver found on #012 and #045, but the car is a repaint so it could also be a custom color.

Nice shots tentacles. It's fairly basic, but I really like the interior in this car.

Just stumbled on a decent set of hi-res photos from the MadWhips site:
