Re: Use Detail Kits for Added Realism

You guys still have that online grudge? Lol..... Anyways...

OP, you're right. Just by the pics of their products and instructions I can tell top studio products are excellent (just like other brands as well) but customer service is a whole other story (look at TVF1 for example)! It's great to hear people are still doing the right thing these days. Btw, I have that same detail kit, it was the first detail kit I ever bought... made me feel like a kid getting a toy when I opened it.

Re: Use Detail Kits for Added Realism

Nope Doc - All's well that ends well.

Yes, the kit is a big chunk to bite off. I built historic ship models for museums in my heyday and this is proving to be quite a challenge. I only hope I can do it justice. I'm reversing order a bit to get accustomed to the detail again, building the brake rotors first just to refresh some touch.

Good luck with yours, and don't worry, Johnson of TS is every bit as generous as I claimed. If you mess something up, he'll be sympathetic. He's caught my eye - when I go shopping for another kit, I'll go to them first.

Best regards, Lester

Re: Use Detail Kits for Added Realism

I will second the original post! I have built a number of Top Studios motorcycle kits and I moved on to the MP4/13 kit. The kit was 90% done when I noticed that I had lost one of the clear brake reservoir pieces. I emailed Johnson asking to purchase one from him and low and behold he sent one free of charge a week later! Top Studio has a customer for life and that doesn't come easy to say this day and age!

Re: Use Detail Kits for Added Realism

I must make my apologies for misquoting the price for TS's McLaren MP4/13 kit.

This is a terrible error and I apologize for any confusion. I was thinking of a detail kit now in development by a close friend and the two prices became intermingled. I most assuredly should have verified the kit's price before publishing it. I apologize to our Marine friend and any others that were misled by my blunder. I hope my error was not a great inconvenience to anyone, especially Johnson at Top Studio.

Thanks for your understanding and hopefully the acceptance of my apology.

Take care and God Bless OUR Armed Forces! Lester
