2011 Sienna power liftgate broken
The other day I "caught" my power rear liftgate with my hands to keep it from closing on an object. It made a nice click/grind sound before stopping or reversing. Like there is a clutch or something in there that jumped and now the sequence is a little off.
The liftgate alignment is now "bottom toward the left" so the only way to get the liftgate to close is manually with a little force to the right to get the latch to align with the pin. Any ideas what is going on? Is there a way to zero or reset the sequence on the electric closer? |

Re: 2011 Sienna power liftgate broken
G'day,
It sounds like something has slipped out of alignment. There maybe a gear drive that has slipped some teeth, or a rod type arrangement that has slipped. Usually these sorts of systems can be adjusted, you will need to locate the mechanism behind the interior panels though.
