97 Camry - PO 441
Hi there, I am not a mechanic by any sort of the imagination, but have tried to clear the problem that is creating a PO 441 on my 97 Camry. I have researched significantly on the Internet and learned about the possibilities with this code and have at this point:
Replaced the Vapor Canister Replaced the VSV to the Canister Checked all the the EVAP hoses that I can find Tried to check the ohm level on the EVAP VSV (although the parts house tells me this is the same part as the canister VSV, but I see two possibilitis in my manual) Replaced the fuel filter (because when I moved it to install the canister it started to leak) I am at a loss as to what to do next. I read that the last resort is to replace the PCM, but that is another $300. Any thoughts, or do I need to just surrender and take it in? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. I don't have all the mechanic-type tools, but I do have a good assortment, including an ohm meter. Help please . . .

Re: 97 Camry - PO 441
Did you determine if the VSV for EVAP is good or not? What was the result?
Check the VSV for vapor pressure sensor and VSV for EVAP circuits for shorts or an open connections. Test the vapor pressure sensor and associated circuit.

Re: 97 Camry - PO 441
The VSV for the purge valve came new with the new canister, so I am sure it is working, although we did not verify this after putting the canister. I did check the ohms on the VSV for the EVAP and it checked out at 34 ohms, so I believe it is ok as well.
If I am not mistaken (and I may be), the vapor pressure sensor is also part of the new canister? Thanks for your help. I am at a loss at this point. |

Check the circuits.

Re: 97 Camry - PO 441
Thanks for the the reply, got it fixed. Took it to a mechanic. Apparently there are 3 VSVs and it was the one toward the bottom of the engine.
Thanks so much for responding though, I sincerely appreciate your help. |
