It's looking great. Where in Australia are you going? I live just down from Australia Zoo...

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your comments. At the moment I'm not going to Australia, I only said this because Dan002 requested some help... But maybe when I finish all my models I can consider it!!

Congratulations for your work with the Ferrari 312T and the Martini Porsche 935 (it will be a reference thread when I start building this kit), they are simply amazing, and not to mention the Barry Sheene's Yamaha YZR500...

Re: Tamiya 1/12 McLaren MP4/6 Ayrton Senna

Hi guys. Here you have some more photos. I also added CF decals to the engine airbox:

And here's the beginning of the bodywork painting work. I first painted everything with gray primer. Then, I covered the outside part with masking tape and painted the inside black. Then, I covered the inside with masking tape and painted the outside with Tamiya TS-26, and finally I painted the red zones with TS-36:

And that's all for now. More to come soon!!

Re: Tamiya 1/12 McLaren MP4/6 Ayrton Senna

Hi guys. Here you have more progress photos. Here's the masking of the bodywork:

And after two fine coats of Tamiya TS-36, the result is like this:

And after removing the masking tape, this is the result:

And after adding some PE nuts and bolts, this is the result:

Finally, I made two stands for the bodywork. Here you have the building process:

And finally, the car is finished!!!!! Before adding the decals (I don't know why, but I always do it at the end), I did some final photos:

So that's all. As soon as I can upload the photos of the completed car, I'll post them (I have done more than 60!!!!! photos of the completed car, so I'll post a selection of them).

Looks fantastic! I really like the exhaust, it's hard to get the weathering just right, but you've done a great job.

Cool Re: Tamiya 1/12 McLaren MP4/6 Ayrton Senna

HI, I recently bought this same model off of e-bay. its new in the box it even included a PERFECT PARTS DETAIL KIT FROM F1 SPECIAITIES , It has a lot of photo etched parts for the engine, seat belt, suspension, undertray, hose clamps electronic boxes , spring support, struts, exhaust fitting and clamps, wiring connectors, radiator ect ect.

I am pretty sure that when tamiya printed the assembly instructions for this Tamiya 1/12 McLaren MP4/4 it does not take into account if the builder uses a detail kit. If they do please let me know.

As you know there are a lot of DETAIL PARTS FROM MY KIT AND WANTED TO KNOW THE BEST WAY TO INCLUED THEM IN THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE, PLEASE HELP THANKS .

Re: Tamiya 1/12 McLaren MP4/6 Ayrton Senna

I did not know Tamiya produced the MP 4/4 in 1:12
The perfect parts detail kit is of course not mentioned in the Tamiya instructions.
