NisMagnum | Transkit by ScaleProduction

Hi fellow modelers,

this model has been finished for the modeling show in Jabbeke (Belgium) in March. Long time ago, I know - but I didn't get around to take proper pics ever since. Sorry for keeping you waiting so long.

The Revell Dodge Magnum delivered the base for the ScaleProduction transkit. The NisMagnum transkit includes the following parts:

1 set original Tamiya Skyline R34 chrome parts for head- and taillights

1 set original Tamiya Skyline R34 clear parts for head- and taillights

1 resin body. The body is cast in fine resin and in the perfect quality we came to expect from ScaleProduction: no lurkers, air bubbles or other impurities. The proportions are spot-on and the Tamiya clear parts fit absolutely perfect.

I want to mention that you DO NOT need a Tamiya Skyline R34 donor kit! All you need is the Revell kit for chassis, interior and glass parts.

With the important facts covered, let's get on to the model. AF member Bob inspired the NisMagnum TK with his fabulous idea of mating the R34 Skyline and the Dodge Magnum. Click here to check it out.

With Bob's agreement of letting ScaleProduction borrow his idea and concept, German modeler Karsten Reber from Berlin went ahead and built the master model. Eagle eye and master caster Mike from SP then finished it with the utmost attention to detail and made a mould from silicone. For just €35, I think it's a steal, especially when you consider how much other resin companies charge for their body-only(!) transkits. Value for money sure is a big reason why I like SP transkits a lot. No fuss, no cleaning up of parts necessary...

I wanted my NisMagnum to match my other SEIBON Nissans, hence it was sprayed white, partially carbonized and the SEIBON decals added. The interior is a two-tone job: black and light grey. Carpets and the Pegasus woofer box have been flocked and homemade Recaro decals have been added to the seats. The roof spoiler has been enlarged and also carbonized. Done. On to the pictures...

More pictures in my Photobucket.

I hope you like it. Would be great to see a couple of those built in different styles here on AF

Regards,
Sebastian

The rims are from ScaleProduction. It's a limited special edition cast in white metal that come already polished. Just add brakes, mount the wheels on the car and you're done :-)
