Trans Slipping

My trans was ok till about 3 to 4 months ago. I put in some 80w 90 and now anytime I get on the gas, half the time it will do nothing but rev rpm's and not HP. Did I use wrong gear oil?

Or is it a bad tranny all together?

Clutch, assuming 'HP' means that the car isn't actually moving when press the gas.

So it was rebuild and now you're having problems already? I'm confused between this post and your last one.

Re: Trans Slipping

Still hasn't been rebuilt yet till I get the money together. Just wondering if it could be the clutch cause I just replaced it about a yr and 1/2 ago. But ya when I get on the gas it slips real bad. Doesn't do it bad at first guessing till the trans heats up and until that day I put more gear oil in it.

I see what you mean by being cunfused when I said he did the rebuild for me. Was a typo, ment he is going to. Sorry

shure sounds like you need clutch and pressure plate again. when you changed it last did you look at fly wheel when you changed it to see if it was blue from sliping? if was blue that's probley your problem now since it's sliping already?

When we rebuilt the motor, we put in a new Exedy plate. But I have been having problems with the trans since I put car on the road. But didn't think it was the clutch and pressure plate since they were new.

Re: Trans Slipping

If its slipping then the clutch is gone. Nothing you can do but pull the tranny and see what happened.

Re: Trans Slipping

K fixing to buy a new clutch kit. What would be best? Just stock or stage 2 or 3 since IM running turbo now? Just making sure to see how much I can save on buying the kit. Auto zone has the stock kit for $230 but i have seen some stage 2 and 3's for only $200 more. Like here. http://www.andysautosport.com/mitsub...c00005318.html

i would get racing clutch and presure plate since you have the 350 in it and check summit or jegs to get a good one.

good luck.........
